OUR APPROACH
Hundreds of business use Hireflix to improve their screening and recruiting process. Their GraphQL API with Webhooks lets developers integrate Hireflix into any ATS, CRM, or custom system. But without solid documentation, that power was locked behind a steep learning curve. Developers were relying on support channels to answer questions the docs should have handled automatically. The core challenge was clear: build technical documentation from the ground up that could serve both experienced GraphQL engineers and developers encountering the query language for the very first time.
OUR SOLUTION
We built Hireflix's technical documentation from scratch using Mintlify as the platform foundation, combined with custom React components to embed a live GraphQL Playground directly within the docs. Rather than pointing developers to an external tool, they can now run real queries and explore the API without ever leaving the documentation page.
The information architecture was designed with developer experience as the north star. Content was structured around actual developer journeys, from initial setup through advanced integration, rather than a flat API reference dump. Crucially, we built a dedicated onboarding track for developers not yet familiar with GraphQL, ensuring that unfamiliarity with the query language would never be a blocker to building on top of Hireflix.
THE RESULT
The impact was immediate and measurable: a sharp drop in customer support requests. By giving developers the right context upfront, structuring content around discoverability, and eliminating the most common points of confusion, the documentation became the first place developers go.
The GraphQL onboarding track in particular proved to be a major win. Developers who had never written a GraphQL query before could follow a clear, self-contained path to their first successful integration. Combined with the embedded Playground, the gap between reading documentation and actually building closed dramatically.
